Today in our 2015 Kia Sorento we're doing a test fit on the rhino wrack roof mounted cargo basket. This basket is 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a 165 pound weight capacity. That part number is RMCB. We already have three of our four mounts in place but first we're going to show you how we secure that and we'll go over a few features. We already two of our brackets in place. We have our plastic one that's going to go between the bars of our cargo basket and our cross bar. more

Today on our 2015 Acura TLX we're doing a test fit of the CURT roof mounted cargo basket. This is 41-1/2" long by 37" wide by 4" deep, and has a 150 pound weight capacity. That part number is C18115. Now although it does have a 150 pound weight capacity you do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure it can withstand that much weight. We already have three of our four mounts secured down. We've got our fourth space here, how we would replace that to put it in different slats is we would just pop it out and move it to the different sections to accommodate different crossbar spreads. more

Curt Roof Basket Review - 2017 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part number C18115. The Curt Rooftop Cargo Basket is great for storing things that you don't want on the inside of your vehicle or if your truck bed is completely full such as luggage, sporting goods equipment, coolers, anything like that. It measures 47-1/2" long by 37" wide, by 4" deep so you'll have plenty of space to work with to store your gear. It also comes with this fairing in the front, making the cargo basket a little more aerodynamic in cutting down wind noise and drag while you're driving. It's very easy to install and just clamps onto your existing roof rack with this U-bolt and clamping system. This basket is rated to carry up to 150-lbs although you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that amount of weight. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the cargo basket let's go ahead and show you how it installs. First we're going to go ahead and set it onto our roof rack. In some cases you may need an extra set of hands to do this. more

Today in our 2017 Nissan Altima we're gonna be test-fitting the Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part number RMCB. This measures 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you always want to double-check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand that weight on the roof. This is great for carrying a wide variety of things that you don't want to keep inside, or to make more room inside for you and your family as you travel. You can carry anything from camping equipment, to sporting goods equipment, to coolers. We already have it for the most part installed on our roof. We'll go ahead and show you how the rest of it goes on. The first step when you put these on is to actually put these plastic brackets here in between the crossbar itself and the cargo basket, and it lines up along the bars here. Now when loading the roof rack, or excuse me, the roof mounted cargo basket on your roof, it's always a good idea to make sure you leave enough room so you can still open your rear hatch. You can see with the way we've got it positioned onto our factory roof rack system, we're not going to have that issue. A few other things to know about the roof mounted basket, it is made out of a tubular steel construction design. It has 150 pound weight capacity, though you'll want to be sure and check with your vehicle's owner's manual to see if it can carry that much. more

I already have it loaded up on the Honda Fit just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. Anytime you load up anything on the roof of your vehicle, you always want to be sure you leave just enough room so you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see here, we've got it in the right spot, we don't have to worry about that problem. We can still open up our rear hath all the way. A few things to know about this roof mounted basket, is it has a sturdy steel tubular construction design to it, it's a little bit boxier than your average roof mounted cargo basket but, that's okay. We're going to be able to carry a lot more cargo. more

It measures 47 inches long, by 35 inches wide, and it's about 5 1/2 inches deep. Now, like any time you're carrying something on your roof, or mounting something on your roof, you want to be sure you leave enough room so you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see by the way we have it positioned, we're not going to have that problem. Now, it has 165-pound weight capacity, though you'll want to be sure and check with your Honda Fit to see if your roof can carry that much. You'll need to be sure, with whatever roof rack system you have on there, you have a crossbar spread between 21 and 30 inches. more

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket Review RMCB02- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Rhino Rack roof mounted steel cargo basket, part number RNCB02. This extra large roof top cargo basket is great for transporting your luggage, your sporting goods equipment, or your camping equipment, and to keep it out of your vehicle to make more space for you and your family as you travel. It's also good for keeping anything damp or dirty that you don't want to have in your vehicle, as well. With it loaded onto our vehicle here, you can see that you don't have to remove the antenna in the back, and we have plenty of clearance between the hatch itself, and the cargo basket. The basket does come with a fairing, and that's going to cut down your wind noise, and drag. It also has a universal mounting kit that can fit arrow, elliptical, most factory bars, and square bars. However, this will not work with Rhino Rack's heavy duty bars. Now, for the overall dimensions, it's going to be 57 inches long, by 42 13/16 inches wide, by 5 7/8 inches tall. more

A few things to know about this roof mounted cargo basket, is it's a tubular construction, it's going to be able to free up the inside of our vehicle for more passengers and pets. Up here, we've got a nice fairing, so it's going to reduce that wind drag and noise while we're on the road. more

Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're gonna be testing the Rhino Rack roof-mounted cargo basket, part number RMCB. This measures 47 inches long by 35 inches wide by five and a half inches tall, and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, although you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that your roof can withstand that weight. It does have an aerodynamic shape to it, plus it has a fairing installed on the front, which is gonna cut down on the wind noise and drag while you're driving, and this will work with, as you see here, factory cross bars, as well as square, round, elliptical, and aero. It's very easy to install, and we'll show you how the last bracket goes on. We're gonna come here to the back corner of the driver's side, where we already have our plastic piece installed between the cargo basket itself and the crossbars. We also have our metal piece installed in the top here, and it just pushes into place like so. We'll put our bolts through, and these are Allen-head bolts, like so, and then we'll take our bottom bracket, line it up, and start tightening our bolts down. Some things that this can actually be used for are anything from sporting goods equipment to camping equipment, anything wet you want to keep out of your vehicle, or just anything you want to keep out of your vehicle to make more space for you and your family as you travel. Try not to lose the tightening tool as you're tightening it. more

Thule Roof Basket Review - 2009 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2009 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Canyon XT rooftop cargo basket, part number TH859XT. This cargo basket measures 49 in long by 40 in wide by 6 in tall. It has a carrying capacity of 150 lbs, although you want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that your roof can withstand that kind of weight. It does come with the fairing installed on it, and this does have a nice aerodynamic shape to it as well, and both of those will cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving. We have it in the shortened version now, but if you look on etrailer.com, there is a center piece you can put in here to actually extend it out, which is sold separately. Let's go ahead and show you how the last one goes on. First off though, I would like to point out that as it sits right now, we're not going to have any clearance issues between the hatch itself and the cargo basket. more

Curt Roof Basket Review - 2016 Nissan Quest- Video
Today on our 2016 Nissan Quest, we're going to be test fitting the Curt cargo rooftop basket, part number C-1-8-1-1-5. This measures forty-one and a half inches long by thirty-seven inches wide by four inches deep. It has a carrying capacity of a hundred and fifty pounds, although you want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure that your roof can withstand that kind of weight. We have this faring here at the front which is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving and if you would want something that's a little bit longer, Curt does offer an extension you could add to this, which adds about ten inches or so to the back, which you can find on "Etrailer.com". It's very easy to install. We have these U-bolts that just wrap around your actual roof rack and then tighten down with these knobs here. more

This has a carrying capacity of 150 pounds, although you want to double check with your manufacturer's recommendations to make sure your car can withstand the weight on the roof. It measures 49 inches long by 40 inches wide by 6 tall at its highest point. Its aerodynamic shape and fairing that is include also cuts down wind noise and drag while you're driving. With it installed in this position, you're not going to face any clearance issues between the hatch and the cargo basket itself. It's very easy to install. It simply just clamps around your roof rack system with these two knobs and this U-bolt. more
